Speaking Tips:

  • You must make 6 Checkpoint B responses that are comprehensible and appropriate to the task
  • You may receive a score of 2, 1 or 0 for each response
  • You have 2 attempts per response
  • 2 scores of zero (0) on the first response results in a zero (0) for the entire conversation and the conversation ends at that point
  • Use SCOPE phrases
  • Add pero or porque to create 2 clauses
  • Ask a question
  • Use 2 verbs together (egg verbs)
  • DO NOT use one word answers, including sí/no
  • DO NOT repeat/restate what you or the teacher has already said
