Spanish V (SPA 204 Intermediate Spanish II)
Spanish V (SPA 204 Intermediate Spanish II) is an elective course of study that can be taken for a local and/or college credit. The prerequisite course is SPA 203 (Spanish IV/Intermediate Spanish I)
•3 credit hour college course through NCCC
•Focus on Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking
•at the NYS Checkpoint C level of communication
•Emphasis on classic and contemporary art and literature
•Grammar focuses on the introduction to the compound tenses and to the subjunctive tenses

Successful completion of the course awards the student 3 credit hours and generates a college transcript.
Advantages to taking college credit courses in high school:
-reduced tuition
-experience the rigor of a college class before entering college
-full year course vs. one semester (approximately 17 weeks) to learn the same material
-earn a total of 6 credit hours (SPA 203 and SPA 204) in foreign language, possibly eliminating the need to take a foreign language course in college
-potential to graduate college early
