The following Impersonal Expressions trigger use of the subjunctive in the subordinate clause:
Es necesario que... Es bueno que... Es malo que... Es importante que... Es imposible que... Es mejor que... Es una lástima que... Es urgente que... Impersonal expressions that express certainty trigger the INDICATIVE in the subordinate clause: Es verdad que... Es cierto que... Es evidente que... Es seguro que... *NOTE: If the above expressions are negative, therefore expressing doubt or uncertainty, then the SUBJUNCTIVE is used int eh subordinate clause. Ejemplos: Es verdad que ella hable alemán. No es verdad que ella habla francés. HABLAR COMER VIVIR Begin with the stem of the YO form of the present tense: hablo como vivo Drop the "o" habl com viv Add the following endings: hable coma viva hables comas vivas hable coma viva hablemos comamos vivamos habléis comáis viváis hablen coman vivan NOTE: yo and él/ella/Ud forms are identical Why start with YO? Because verbs that are irregular in the YO present tense will show that irregularity throughout the present subjunctive conjugations.
